ETHREAL
smooth like crystal, no more like glass
and i touch your quartz clavicle
and how is it you are not falling apart,
but you with your cold pale fingertips still radiate light bouncing off a diamond body
you are ethereal.
remind me how in this balancing act i am expected to sit tall, poised princess ripped by story books.
my body is wrapped around a post so tight to keep from falling and yet slipping anyways.
and you with your pristine looking-glass
immaculate.
stand Kaleidoscoped wide eyed
i let you catch me when i fall
and maybe we can tip the scales together.
